Corsica Ferries

ferries

By Ferry
Corsica can be easily reached either by airplane or ferry.

Ferries depart from Italy and France regularly. Costing a considerable amount less than flying, most ferries allow you to bring your own car to the island. There are many ports in Corsica, most of which are near the main cities. These include the ports in Bastia, Ajaccio, Calvi, Porto Vecchio and Ile Rousse.

Usually children under 4 years travel free, while those between 4 and 12 have a 50% discount on the price of the ticket. Animals are allowed on most ferries as long as you buy a ticket for them, while the cost of transport for cars or motorcycles depends on length and can vary to between 35 and 85 euros.

The main Italian ports which offer services to Corsica are in Genoa, Livorno, Naples and Piombino. Tickets can cost between €20 and €30, although prices do change throughout the year.

Trains and Buses
Once you arrive in Corsica the best way to travel around is by train or bus. Tourist Information Bureaus provide the most information on Corsica’s extensive bus services and train line, known as Trinighellu.
