Sea, nature, food and history... Called Kallistè the most beautiful by the Greeks, Corsica is all of this and more... For an exotic holiday in the Mediterranean Sea's very own island paradise.

Filitosa is Corsica’s very own ancient city. Perhaps the largest and most significant archaeological site on the island, Filitosa is home to over 8000 years of history and is located in the inner region of Corsica. But Filitosa isn’t just famous for being old, it is also recognised for its massive collection of statues and menhirs left by past civilisations.

The discovery of Filitosa and its archaeological ruins are attributed to Charles-Antoine Cesari who, in 1948, found rocks, menhirs and pieces of an ancient city on his property. Some of these findings were later proven to date back as far as the Neolithic period when the town was first established. The site also has other structures which were built in later centuries, including towers and a large village.

As well this ancient city, which is open to visitors, Filitosa also has a museum that displays all the ruins, relics and objects recovered from archaeological excavations, as well as a description of the history of the territory.
