Sea, nature, food and history... Called Kallistè the most beautiful by the Greeks, Corsica is all of this and more... For an exotic holiday in the Mediterranean Sea's very own island paradise.

Cargese

Cargese

Cargese lies along the west coast of Corsica, between the famous cities of Porto and Ajaccio. With Renaissance roots, Cargese is a town best known for its beautifully antique houses and historic buildings, as well as its two churches, one Greek-built and one Latin-built.

Being such an old town means Cargese has a rich and very interesting history. Deeply tied to the Greek community that settled here in 1676, Cargese continues to be a small slice of Athens in Corsica, even to the point where its residents speak Greek instead of French. Today this Greek community has made Cargese somewhat of an anomaly on the island, heavily influencing its architecture, traditions, customs and even cuisine.

A few minutes from Cargese is Menasina Beach. A very beautiful beach, Menasina is a large stretch of white sand and clear blue water, bordered by a lush pine forest perfect for relaxing in the shade by the sea.
