Algajola

Algajola is located in Northern Corsica. A small seaside town, it is famous for its lovely beach, a beach whose crystal clear water, fine sand and white rocks provide the perfect environment for diving and snorkeling.
Algajola is one of the island’s oldest towns and was founded in 1800, although there is also some evidence to suggest that a colony existed here in prehistoric and protohistoric times. The town originally housed a Roman port, which is today open to visitors along with an old castle and the ruins of many other ancient buildings.
Algajola beach is easy to reach and, with a large car park nearby, very popular with locals and tourists who want to spend a day relaxing in the sun. Unlike other beaches in Corsica, Algajola isn’t just for swimmers and sunbathers, but is also one of the island’s premier locations for water sports and windsurfing.
